I would be delighted to teach your child the joy and passion of drumming as it has been mine for most of my adult life.

I grew up in San Francisco, raised by musical parents.  My father played guitar and my mother was a singer and together they worked clubs in the City and Bay Area singing pop, folk and jazz for 10 years while my brothers and I were growing up.  Music was always played in our home. My grandparents were great dancers who loved the big band music of the 30's & 40's. They told me stories of how they would go to the jazz clubs of New York and Jersey and danced to music of the greats, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and many others.

After graduating high school and studying at Community College, I finally followed my passion in music and began playing drums. I took lessons from some of the best local drummers and studied online under both locally and nationally renowned drummers.

I had also received my Early Childhood Development Teaching Certificate and began working at Little Bear School here in San Francisco, teaching drum classes as well for seven years.

I decided I wanted to perform and put together our rock band, Sistas In The Pit.  We performed all over the Bay Area and gradually started to book gigs around the country, Europe and Asia. Sistas in the Pit had the great honor of being the opening act for Iggy Pop and the Stooges on their comeback tour in 2007. It was an extraordinary time and great fun!  I learned so much, not only about performing on the drums, I was able to experience so many different cultures and people from all over the world and that is a gift I'll treasure forever.

Now I've decided to build a drum school and teach what I love!  I had been teaching along the way at various schools and different places, so now is the time to set up my own school and bring in students who would like to learn how to play drums.  So I hope we can make some great beats together!
